Big Mud Puddles and Sunny Yellow Dandelions

When I look at a patch of dandelions, I see a bunch of weeds that are going to take over my yard.
My Granddaughter sees flowers for Mom and blowing white fluff you can wish on.
When I see a mud puddle I step around it. I see muddy shoes and dirty carpets.My Granddaughter sits in it. They see dams to build, rivers to cross, and worms to play with.

This is something like going out to drive around and look at all the lights only you can bring your hot chocolate, tea, coffee, or other beverage of choice, sit back and see the sites on the internet.

I love this time of year, there is just something special about it. Wonderful memories, the smell of fireplaces, the chill in the air. The look of wonder in the faces of people as they look at decorations and packages all snug under a tree.

And it seems like alot of Blogs and Journals are reflecting this. This is the first of entries of the ones I am finding. Hope you enjoy them.

Weekend Homework Assignment

Funny this should be the weekend homework assignment. I may be just a bit "over the top" on this one.

I used to throw my change all together and slowly pick through it when we needed some small change for things, quick trip to get a pop or candy bar, or make sure we had change for a video game when the kids were younger and living at home, then I realized that after the kids had left, the change was taking up several jars or dressers edge, and about this time we had one of those large plastic animal cookie jars from Costco.

and I started throwing my penny's in it, 6 years later I had $350 in pennies. When I started using this for just pennies, I decided to save my quarters separately, and I found that those candy tubes that you can get during different holidays.

They hold $25 in Quarters, they do hold a few more but I keep it at $25 dollars. When one gets to $25 dollars I put a piece of tape over the top so I don't add any more plus it makes it easy to count real fast too.

When bear got full I started using a 1 gallon milk bottle, I had been putting my nickels in one. My dimes go in a piggy bank, don't know how many these hold when full and it looks like it will be awhile before I find that out. Also when doing laundry, if I find the green stuff has been laundered, I put it in an envelope that I keep in a cupboard, no not under the mattress. I actually did pay for a trip to DisneyWorld several years ago with this savings plan, and I recently helped pay for a new digital camcorder, its really a painless way to save and fun.

There seems to be rules for everything.

Well, I didn't realize that the rules for Shotgun were so involved, for me I would have to carry them around with me, with all the amendments and everything. As far as I knew shotgun was shotgun. Guess this just shows what little I do know.

If you were one of those who said if the wrong party won the election you would leave the country, this article might prove helpful. Of course this is about renouncing your citizenship, which I don't think I heard that mentioned by those who said they would leave, after all that is a pretty drastic move, renouncing your citizenship, since it could all turn around again in 2008.

Hopefully it will be over. Hadn't checked our voice mail for a few days, and we had 7 new messages, 5 were from the republican party, 2 were family calls. Can't wait till this over. One tidbit I just read about our candidates for President is that they are supposedly related to Count Dracula, no wonder we feel so violated by both, according to the story you have to go back 30 generations to connec them, but all the blood sucking now makes sense.

USATODAY has a story in their MONEY section that says Starbucks is introducing a new drink, the Chantico, sounds extemely rich, but if its chocolate, I gotta try it at least once!

I just love to read the odd news, you know the stories, the ones that make you laugh and say "what were the idiots thinking?" Like this one about a Georgia man, now do they put the warning label on the movie or the beer?

My Christmas List

It's that time of year, the Christmas catalogs are coming out. I remember studying the Sears and the Montgomery Wards catalogs and making my list, then sending it off to Santa and then spending the next month wondering if I had made the right choices, there were so many things and it had to be narrowed down to just a few. Well now we have the Neiman Marcus catalog.

Now I love to bowl, but I do have a small collection of Potato Heads, so this is going to be a tough choice, I do own my own bowling shoes so maybe I can leave the shoes out of the package and I'm not one to watch TV while bowling so if I leave off the 2 Plasma Screens too, then maybe Santa will bring both the bowling center and the potato heads.

Don't believe this really puts smiles or makes you smirk ... So I will just call this current events.

Seems Florida has hurricanes and we here in the Northwest have volcanoes. Seems this afternoon, Mt. St. Helen's had a case of the hiccups, and past a cloud of steam. she seems to have quited down now, you can check up on her here, the image renews every 5 minutes so hit the reset after you check the time of the current image.

I do believe this would be a great opportunity to share a picture or two of Mt. St. Helens that we took on a visit there August 2002.

Another fun site found; read this story in our paper, Tri-City Herald. What a fun idea, dad gets all types of celebrities to let him take Jeremy's picture with them, and then he's been putting them on the internet at http://www.whoisthatwithjeremy.com/. Because of mentions in blogs like this he has received more then 300,000 hits on his site and has been written up in newspapers and made TV appearances. Now what I don't know in the story towards the end when they are talking about when they will stop it says "Plus the bigger he gets, the less cute the pictures are" hopefully it wasn't the dad.

I love it when someone comes across a new webpage that I would not probably come across, and how John does it I don't know, probably like me, reading blogs.

John has come across a interesting website called FraudFrond.com. Now this is totally new to me, but I love it, especially since it doesn't seem to involve a sore arm like slug bug seems to result in for me. And I like the idea that even though they may be fake, instead of a tower you see a tree. Had I known about this it would have given me something else to take pics of on our trip, but there are lots of opportunities ahead still.

The one I am really interested in is Everybody. When Everybody finally decides to stand up and say, Yes it is me, Everybody, I did it, I wore it, I use it ... I always wanted to see this Everybody ... I never thought it would be hard to spot, you know, Everybody, since they, actually Everybody had their hair cut this way, they were wearing wild clothes, they, no everybody got to stay out later and go to all the r rated movies, they, this could really get confussing, maybe Everybody is really They, you know like when you hear, "Well, Everybody, They wear makeup to school ... . This "kid" was lucky, but the subject is one I have a problem with anyway. It upsets me when I see an advertisement for a car or motorcycle that is selling the speed that can be reached, what young person or for that matter even some more mature individuals aren't of the idea faster is better, what I'm waiting for is a lawsuit against all involved in the whole campaign, from concept to the airing of the commercial including the dealership, after all they are encouraging the recklessness of the idea of highspeeds.

New Favorite Song

I just heard a new song the other day on CMT by Travis Tritt and John Mellencamp,What Say You, it's a great song that to me makes me think of the atmosphere today that some seem to think only their point of view is the right view. The song has a great message with a good feel to it, by two great performers who are on opposites sites of most issues, but bring this song together smoothly. Another great plus for the song is I really like both performers. You can take a listen to the song, Girls gone Wild also on Travis Tritts new CD, out this past August, here My Honkey Tonk History, a lot more good music on the CD. Birthday Song

I'm playing around with pictures of Hailey's birthday and wanted to put some music to the slide show, I didn't want the usual happy birthday to song, I had one particular one in mind, one from my childhood, from a TV show I watched called Sheriff John ... couldn't recall the rest. I turned to the internet and found the song both the words and the actual song, how fun to hear it, I can just see the birthday cake turn around on screen now, and you can see it for real too if you click on the link under the first photo on the page, so cool to see the clips.

This site is really great, brings back fun memories; there are links here for several shows I recall watching, one that took me back to my childhood days was to the Engineer Bill show, I think it was the Engineer Bill show that he drank a glass of milk and he would do a thing where he would drink on a green light and stop on a red light, click on the movie link and the red light green light game is explained. It's fun watching the little clip, I remember playing that game so clearly, just so much fun.

And then there was Chucko the Clown, he wore this funny little hat that he would tilt into the camera and spin the top of it to go to a cartoon, those hats were a must have, so you could help him spin to the cartoon. I remember going to a carnival at a park every year and he would be there and he would hand out the hats there, one year I won a real live baby duck tossing ping pong balls into fish bowls, I named it queeny, have no idea why that name, but I was about 5 years old so that explains alot right there.

Funny, all this started because I wanted a certain birthday song.

I was over at the Barnes and Noble web site today and saw a note that the title for the 6th Harry Potter book had been announced, yes, I know, it was announced the end of June. There are times when one is traveling that you are disconnected from the world and at that moment in time we were traveling across country with our 5th wheel. But what still hasn't been announced is when we can look forward to actually getting to read it. So I surfed over to JK Rowlings web site to see what she had to say, nothing, except it won't be out for a long time yet, her actual words where, "that's not go to happen very soon."

Oreo cookies, something else you just can't eat one of. I prefer to dunk the original in a cold glass of milk, 2nd choice is twisted apart eating the filling first. Then I found a 3rd choice is fried, they are sooooo good that way. We had a resturant in the area, the Mustang Diner in Prosser WA. Kathy and I liked to go there for lunch and have their fried Oreo Cookie Dessert, can't do that now since they closed. But thanks to the internet and John Scalzi's Journal, By The Way ...Must Stop Drooling part 2 we can now try this unusual treat ourselves at home.

While following a link from the opening screen on AOL I came across the story of a woman getting a parking ticket while stuck in traffic, maybe the parking attendant thought it was an easy way to meet a quota, but I guess if that were the case, then more then one ticket would have been issued.
